6/45 TEACHING INTERNSHIP

"Teachers open the door but you must enter by yourself." - Chinese Proverb

Hi, Diurna! Today is Monday and my schedule is full for today's class, from first period 7:30-8:30 for my minor class ESP, and 8:30-9:30, 9:45-10:45, and 1:45-2:45 for my major English.

I woke up a lil bit today, with that I almost got late for the attendance and for the flag ceremony. Almost but not quite.

On the other side, after the flag ceremony I hurriedly prepared myself and the things I need for my first period class. Then went to my minor CT, Mrs. Arlene Flores to ask if I can start my first class and discussion today. However, as she instructed me that I should introduce myself to them first and vice versa before starting the lesson. And yes indeed, I went to Grade 9- Yulo to start my day with them. It was funny because I entered right away in their room without any words, no reactions, and I was just instructed them to arrange their chairs accordingly because their room was used from the 3 days district meet last week, take note this section is an athlete so expected that they had a jet lag from yesterday's event. And what's more funny was their reactions, they were all shocked and I can definitely see the question marks from their head asking if who am I, standing in front and instructing them what to do while they were in the middle of their chitchats. This will help me test their personalities, behavior, and attitude as they see a new face inside their room.

However, as they worked what I told them I also helped so it would be fast. And as we all settled, I slowly introduced myself to them and my role for the upcoming days. And slowly they smile and light up their faces because I talked to them nicely. And after that moment, they slowly open up and introduced themselves to me and to everybody. And later on, the room filled with laughter as someone threw a joke. They were all nice and respectful towards me. Also during that time, we set our rules and expectations for our class every Monday and Tuesday for their Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao subject. And before I left them, I mentioned that tomorrow we will start the Quarter 3, Module 1 lesson. Somehow they were excited because according to them, "Wala jud mi klasi klasi, ma'am ay." So I replied, "Don't worry, we will have class every Monday and Tuesday so get ready."

After that, I went straight to Grade8-Garnet for my English class. I just gave them the activity we have agreed last week since I got no time after my discussion for the Module 1 but before they start, we did a recapitalization from the last week discussion so they would remember the lesson. Same with my two Grade 7 class, Lavender and Jasmine. I asked them to recap what we had then as they remembered it, I gave them the task. And I gave them enough time and waited them to finish doing the task individually.

After that, I went back to our quarter to relax and enjoy my free time as I slowly checked their outputs for that day, and as I checked their outputs one of the students of section Jasmine wrote the line akong with her thought from the given activity, "and I'm happy to have you too ma'am (heart shape). Indeed, it's the thought that counts, I had a rough day Monday but with her message automatically melt my heart. And I replied, "Same here, ate!" Not later that moment, I found myself on my way home. I changed clothes and took a nap because of tiredness and to gain energy for tomorrow. Goodnight, Diurna!
